Hand Knotted Rugs

Traditionally, Iran (Persia) was the source for the finest rugs and was held as the benchmark against which all other handmade rugs were compared. However, the quality of rugs from other regions such as India, Pakistan, China, Turkey, Tibet, and Nepal has improved in the past 20 years to the extent that many Persian-design carpets from these countries are finer than the Iranian originals.
